Release tension in your back, neck and shoulders — and settle down in the evening.
Whether it's a stiff neck from desk work, an aching back, or nights when your mind just won't switch off, worries and racing thoughts: Hara Shiatsu releases tension, both physically and energetically.
Common Concerns
- Tension in the neck, shoulders and back, often from desk work
- Recurring back pain
- Trouble falling or staying asleep, restless sleep
- Physical tension that doesn't release on its own
How Shiatsu Helps
Focused pressure along the meridians releases muscular tension while stimulating the flow of energy. Depending on your needs, complementary traditional techniques may also be used:
- Ampuku — gentle abdominal treatment for energetic regulation
- Gua Sha — scraping with a smooth tool to release tension
- Moxibustion — heat treatment with mugwort to stimulate the flow of energy
- Cupping — to release deeper tension and promote circulation
For Sleep Problems
Physical tension and an overactive mind are often connected — if you're tense during the day, it's harder to settle down in the evening. Shiatsu works on both levels: it releases physical tension while calming the nervous system, which can make falling asleep easier.
In TCM, trouble falling asleep is often explained by weak Kidney Qi. What's missing is the energetic anchor that brings rising Qi back down. When your batteries are empty, it becomes hard to settle. It sounds paradoxical, but anyone with sleep problems knows it well: you're drained, inwardly restless, and simply can't sleep.
